Camerano has a very atypical historic center which is divided into above and below. The above livable part, which is gathered around the main square, preserves the original structure of an ancient village where some of the most important monuments of the city are concentrated. The below part is an underground path of tunnels and caves running underneath the city. Visitors are often incredulous, an underground city appears to them as a fairy-tale and fascinating place. This is a secret part of Camerano where history and legend are realistic. A walk through this village or through the tunnels is a unique and intense experience.
The village is inserted in the hills of the Conero Riviera, embroidered by the vineyards of Rosso Conero wine, full-bodied and structured wine of Montepulciano grapes. You can taste this wine at its best visiting the wine cellars and you can buy some typical tasting products to take home.
Every year in September wine becomes the protagonist of the Rosso Conero Feast amongst refreshment points, stalls, street games, and wine tasting to enjoy until late night hours.
